Following the announcement of its second Manchester eatery, Six by Nico Restaurant Group,has opened reservations from today in advance of its launch on 30 November.

Located on John Dalton Street, the new restauranthas revealed the first menu as “Cooking Tokyo”which will feature from 30 November – 14 January2024.

Curated by visionary, Nico Simeone, following a research trip to Tokyo earlier this year, the menu takes inspiration from street-food favourites and Japanese classics curated and adapted to celebrate Japanese food and the very best ingredients.

Open daily for lunch and dinner, the six-course tasting menu will transport guests from the heart of Manchester to the bustling streets of Tokyo with spicy, sweet, sour and deep umami tastes and flavours.

The creative six-course tasting menu begins with Chicken Karaage, crispy thigh, togarashi & Oroshi Shoga ginger, course two is Tempura,crisp Enoki mushroom, pickled daikon & ponzu.

For course 3 guests will enjoy Okonomiyaki, a Japanese savoury pancake filled with pork and prawn, Okonomi sauce & Japanese mayonnaise, course 4 is Ramen with miso sea bass, Tokyoturnip, Shimeji mushroom, egg yolk jam & Kombu Dashi broth.

Course 5 is Tonkatsu, a Japanese staple created of panko pork cutlet, glazed belly, cabbage, Hokkaido Pumpkin & yakitori ham jam, with an optional add-on, Tempura Prawn, pickled pumpkin, Togarashi, puffed pork & shallot (£9).

For the final course, Strawberry Candy, white chocolate, matcha cake, & candy strawberry.

The six-course tasting menu also includes asnacks menu featuring Tuna Nigiri with Wasabi, Pickled Ginger & Soy (£7.50) or Miso Broth with tofu and seaweed (£7.50).

The selected aperitif to accompany the Cooking Tokyo menu is the Japanese, Sakura (£9) a tasty combination of gin, cherry, ginger, lemon.

The ever-evolving six-course tasting menu at Six by Nico Deansgate will be priced at £39 per person, with the option to enjoy an expertly selected drink pairing with a £30 supplement.

Six by Nico Deansgate will open on John Dalton Street on Thursday 30 November, marking therestaurant group’s second Manchester location, after its debut at Spring Gardens in 2019.

Founded by chef Nico Simeone, Six by Nico, offers guests a delectable and affordable menuexperience.
