Tampopo – Manchester’s original, independent, Pan Asian eatery – has added a secret dish to its menu this summer, available only to those who know what to ask for.
The AFC Burger, also known as the Asian Fried Chicken Burger, will be brand new to Tampopo restaurants from Monday 5th July. However, the tasty dish won’t appear on the physical menu, so is only available to order ‘secretly’ upon request to those in the know.
Made up of a seven-spice fried chicken thigh, BBQ sauce, lettuce and Asian slaw in a supersoft bun, the AFC Burger is a must-try for foodies everywhere. However this top secret item will be available this summer for a limited time only, so anyone who is fanatic about fried chicken is advised to act fast so as to not miss out on this taste sensation.
For anyone not able to dine-in at the restaurant, the AFC Burger will also be available on Click & Collect orders, available across all Tampopo sites.
Whilst the AFC Burger will only be available in Tampopo restaurants to those in the know, the dish is also currently available to order on the takeaway app, Deliveroo, where the secret menu item has proven to be a certified hit with at-home diners.
The AFC Burger forms part of Tampopo’s new Asian Fried Chicken menu, which launched exclusively online with Deliveroo during lockdown. Curated entirely in a dark kitchen, Asian Fried Chicken by Tampopo has become a cult classic with takeaway and fast food fans alike, racking up hundreds of five star reviews just a year after it’s initial launch. The AFC burger will be the first of the Asian Fried Chicken range to be available in Tampopo restaurants.
All dishes on the AFC menu are made with chicken thigh, known to be more flavoursome and less prone to drying than chicken breast, making each burger bite more succulent than the last. Other Asian Fried Chicken Burgers currently available on Deliveroo include the Katsu Burger, served with spicy katsu sauce, and the Satay Burger, topped with authentic Indonesian sweet sauce.
The AFC Burger is currently available to order via Deliveroo and Click & Collect, and will be available at all Tampopo restaurants from Monday 5th July for a limited time throughout summer.
