Independent cafe and sourdough bakery, Trove, has opened in the city centre at Bruntwood Works’ newly redeveloped Bloc, whilst Ancoats Coffee Co have transformed the arrival experience over at 111 Piccadilly.

Both independent brands are now open and housed in Bruntwood Works Pioneer buildings – part of a £50m redevelopment programme designed to focus on workspace innovation with workplace wellness, a hospitality-led arrival experience and improved community space at the heart of these buildings

Front and centre of the ground floor arrival experience at Bloc, Trove are serving up their distinctive offering of artisan coffee and nutritious, handmade food and drink, accessible via the building’s main entrance on Marble Street, creating a new Trove cafe for the city centre as well as the Bloc business community.

A place for meeting, eating, chatting and creating, it’s perfect for meeting friends over coffee; catching up on emails with a juice; or unwinding over a carafe of wine. Trove’s own freshly baked pastries and cakes are at the heart of the menu which will be focused around good, seasonal food and its connection to wellness.

Bloc is an urban oasis in the centre of Manchester featuring a raft of quality new workspaces, amenities and technology that have all been designed to improve workplace wellbeing and boost productivity including a new state-of-the-art yoga studio by FORM (Manchester’s premium training brand), a living wall, a wildflower roof and a sleep pod. It is a place that truly prioritises workers’ wellness and enhances productivity.

Across town, award-winning independent roastery Ancoats Coffee Co has opened a brand new cafe at 111 Piccadilly building, which completed its Pioneer transformation earlier in the year.  Following the success of their roastery-cafe in Ancoats, the brand has brought their unique brand of speciality, ethically sourced coffee right to the heart of Manchester city centre.

The beautiful space provides a magnificent arrival experience for the iconic 111 Piccadilly building – and to the city centre itself in its unmissable location at the bottom of Piccadilly approach. With an entrance direct from Piccadilly, cascading greenery throughout and beehive inspired central bar it’s definitely a place designed to focus the mind and inspire creativity.

As well as their excellent coffee, Ancoats Coffee Co will serve up pastries and cakes, with a larger food menu expected later in the year.

111 Piccadilly, Manchester’s smartest workspace, will become one of the first cowork spaces in Europe to receive Platinum standard WELL certification later this year. The building features advanced technology at its core with sensors monitoring air quality, space utilisation and energy usage.

Charlotte Wild, Head of Retail and Leisure, said, “We’re delighted to be supporting local, independent brands as part of our Pioneer programme. We’re creating a lot more than just a workspace at Bloc and 111 Piccadilly, and quality, unique food and drink concepts are integral to that.

At both sites we’re building a community where work and wellbeing are in tune with each other, and I can think of no better brands to complement that than Trove and Ancoats Coffee Co. It’s great to see these independent businesses thriving after such a challenging period, and as we welcome customers back to Manchester, it’s really exciting to introduce two new cafe concepts to the city from two of its most exciting coffee innovators.”

Trove and Ancoats Coffee Co are open Monday – Friday from 8am – 5pm.
