The restaurant at the luxury boutique Stock Exchange Hotel in Manchester city centre – formerly The Bull & Bear by Chef Tom Kerridge – will re-open on 1st March as Stock Market Grill. The new dining destination will be under the helm of award-winning bar siblings Joe and Daniel Schofield with business partner James Brandwood, wine expert and 20-year hospitality industry veteran. This highly acclaimed trio have already had proven success in Manchester with their venues SCHOFIELD’S BAR, ATOMECA and STERLING.

Set in the Edwardian baroque splendour of this listed building, which once housed the city’s financial hub, the Stock Market Grill lies at the heart of the Stock Exchange Hotel.

Named among the World’s Best New Luxury Hotels in 2019 by Luxury Travel Intelligence and Leading Hotel of the Year at the This is MCR Awards 2022, Stock Exchange Hotel features forty rooms, suites and private spaces.

The Schofield/Brandwood team currently run the hotel’s subterranean bar, STERLING which offers cocktails, rare wines and live music. Now they are about to extend their reach by taking over management of the Stock Market Grill which enjoys the spectacular setting of what was the trading floor, under a ornate domed ceiling. The restaurant will be a luxurious, warm and inviting place to unwind and entertain.

New head chef Joshua Reed-Cooper (previously at The French with Simon Rogan, with Sam Buckley at Where the Light Gets In and at Michelin-starred Mana), has created an all-day menu of elevated ‘British Brasserie’ classics using high quality local ingredients.

Traditional favourites at the new Stock Market Grill will include oysters with mignonette and Westcombe Cheddar and smoked anchovy straws.

Starters on the launch menu include the likes of chicken liver parfait with Sauternes jelly and sourdough toast, mussel cullen skink, and wild mushrooms with confit yolk and spelt.

Main courses include a perfectly executed rabbit suet pudding with mustard cream, tranche of brill with borderlaise and grilled Onion, mangalitsa pork chop with Yorkshire rhubarb ketchup and ex-dairy rib eye with brown butter jus and lemon.

Desserts include blood orange tart with clotted cream or whiskey baba with vanilla Chantilly.

“I’m really excited to be working with Joe, Daniel and James again on the launch of Stock Market Grill.” adds Gary Neville, owner of the Stock Exchange Hotel, “ I know they will bring another world-class brand to the Stock Exchange Hotel and to our city.”
