When it comes to villains, no soap does them better than Coronation Street. Ahead of this year’s spooky season, Coronation Street: The Tour has been inviting fans to join them on a trip down memory lane to pick their favourite baddies – and giving them a chance to meet them in real life on the cobbles.

Throughout October, Coronation Street will become Horror Nation Street – revisiting ghosts of storylines past in a special edition tour that takes visitors on a journey of the last 60 years of villains, death and destruction on the cobbles.

The set will receive a spooky makeover complete with pumpkins and eerie lighting, plus there’ll be trick or treating and other spook-tacular treats instore. The popular Star Tours have also been given a spooky twist, with a line-up featuring some of the street’s most iconic villains, as voted for by the public.

Fans voted across the official Coronation Street: The Tour Instagram page to uncover the most prolific baddies to ever grace Weatherfield – check out the results and keep your eyes peeled for some at Coronation Street: The Tour this month.

Topping the list of ultimate villains was, Richard Hillman, a supposed family man with a secret homicidal streak and an ongoing financial crisis which secured him the top spot in the public voted poll. He reached his bitter end after a tyrannical reign of extortion – however, eventually his bad intentions caught up with him.

The full list of Coronation Street villains includes:

Tracy Barlow – Imprisoned for murder. Conniving and sinister, Tracy Barlow has a long history of manipulation, family crises and drugs. Her turbulent past and manipulative nature have made her a fan favourite as wherever she goes, drama will ensue.

Clayton Hibbs – a murderer briefly on the run. While Clayton’s difficult childhood may make him a figure of some sympathy, his actions and his murder of Kylie have cemented him as an infamous Corrie villain.

Pat Phelan – from builder to murderer, Pat has long been one of the UK’s favourite villains with his infamous crimes from fraud, to kidnapping and as mentioned, murder. Pat can’t be counted out either – as he has escaped death himself more than a couple of times.

Geoff Metcalfe – a local Weatherfield celebrity due to having his own hospital radio show and a magic act under the name ‘The Great Magnifico’ – Geoff Metcalfe was an emotional and adulterous mastermind who kept his partners in a constant state of paranoia.

Stephen Reid – on the face of it a family man – Stephen Reid returned to Weatherfield in 2022 with a couple of skeletons in his closet including debt, robbery, and bankruptcy. His desperation led him to some murderous actions.

Mad Maya – driven by a desire for revenge, Maya’s sinister plan to get revenge on Sunita lands her in prison after a string of false identity arson, and attempted murder. Her evil intentions and terrifying determination mean she will always be remembered as a top Corrie villain.

Alan Bradey – a fan favourite since the 80s – Alan Bradey’s psychopathic streak made him terrifying and unpredictable. One of the most iconic villains of all time – along with one of the most iconic exits of all time. So much so, that he served as an inspiration for future antagonists on this very list.

Nathan Curtis – the sinister and exploitative ex-fiancé of Bethany Platt and Manager of Supreme Tanning. His criminal connections and numerous arrests have landed him on the list of sinister Corrie characters.

David Platt – Re-owned for his wayward youth, David Platt walks the line between good and evil. He’s caused plenty of torment on the cobbles over the years, David once pushed his mother Gail down the stairs, attacked Ken Barlow, put his niece Bethany in hospital. After learning that Nick Tilsey had slept with his wife Kylie, he caused a car crash which put his half-brother in a coma.

Gary Windass – after starting out as an innocent builder, Gary has swiftly become a formidable villain. Gary has killed two people on Corrie including Rick Neelan and who could forget the murder of Rana Habeeb, who died on what would have been her wedding day, when the factory roof Gary sabotaged collapsed.
