A spokesperson for Angela Rayner has denied rumours that appeared over the weekend that the deputy Prime Minister would not be switching to a safer seat after buying a house on the Sussex coastline.

Stories appeared in the press over the weekend that Rayner would be fleeing from her Ashton-under-Lyne constituency where she will be challenged by reform to move to a safer seat

The Telegraph claimed that she was registered to vote in person at her new property in Hove and reported that Reform UK and the Conservative Party claimed she was plotting a “chicken run” to another seat at the next election

A poll carried out earlier this summer suggested that the Deputy Prime Minister would lose her seat to Reform in a genera; election

Meanwhile the controversy over her property continues with claims that she may have dodged inheritance tax when her constituency home was placed in a trust using a wealth protection firm.
