Love is in the air at Manchester Art Gallery next week as sexology arrives in Mosley Street.

As part of The Wellcome Collection’s national season of sexology, the evening will include a tour of the gallery with curator Kate Jesson, as well as a Manchester-based sexologist. who will guide visitors as they examine private erotica in public places.

This will then be followed by Frocks and Sex, a conversation between designer Helen Story, curator Miles Lambert and fashion commentator Caryn Franklin.

The discussion will consider the relationship between sexuality and sensuality, throughout the history of fashion and textiles. There will also be a Frocks and Sex display of Helen Storey’s dresses, specially selected from her work to demonstrate the tension between sexuality, sensuality and evolving female wisdom in her design process.
