A seventeen year old boy is in hospital with serious injuries after being stabbed in Eccles on Monday night, police have revealed.

The victim was stabbed a number of times before the offender fled the scene in a grey coloured VW Polo on Monton Rosd just before midnight.

His injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

Detective Constable Darren Lowe, of GMP’s Salford District, said: “We are keen to speak to anyone who may have information about this incident, which can help us find those responsible.

“Thankfully the victim’s injuries are not believed to be life threatening, however that could easily have not been the case.

“We believe that there may have been a number of witnesses to the attack and I want to urge those people who saw something to please contact police.”
