The National Cycling Centre in East Manchester is to be turned into the country’s biggest indoor obstacle course this weekend.

Urban Attack has chosen the North West Air Ambulance Charity as its nomination charity after one of its directors was rescued earlier this year.

Dave Readle, Commonwealth cyclist and one of Urban Attack’s Directors and teammate James Brown were assisted by The North West Air Ambulance Charity after they crashed during their Commonwealth Games Trial.

Dave, said: “We were both violently catapulted over the top with James suffering injuries to his leg, a broken collar bone, broken ribs and a suspected punctured lungs. The air ambulance arrived within 15 minutes and came to our aid.

“We were lucky but without the charity, we wouldn’t have been able to recover and race in the 2014 Glasgow Commonwealth Games. We’re grateful to the charity and this is our way of saying thank you.
