The family behind Salvi’s, Manchester’s independent Italian restaurant group, has curated a month full of Italian festivities at each of its venues. Visitors can expect menus packed full of winter specials and shelves stocked up with authentic Neapolitan Christmas produce.

Customers of the Corn Exchange, Deansgate Square, and Northern Quarter venues will be treated to comforting seasonal food and drink, a very merry soundtrack, and the finest selection of hand-picked i regali di Natale (Christmas gifts).

The Corn Exchange and Deansgate Square spots are also offering sweet treats on the go, with a slice of Italian Panettone and Pandoro, glazed with pistachio cream or Nutella with cups of warm mulled wine available at the counter.

Left it late? No worries, both delis and all three of the restaurants will be open on Christmas Eve, helping to secure any last-minute dinner essentials. Everyone’s welcome to join the Salvi’s family for a true Italian celebration filled with authentic food, great people and a buzzing atmosphere.

Salvi’s owner Maurizio Cecco says: “This festive season, we wanted to bring everyone together and give them a really authentic piece of Italy, a piece of Salvi’s.

“We have taken inspiration from our big Christmas Day lunch in Naples and the traditions we share around the holidays, creating a truly Neapolitan family celebration for everyone across Manchester to enjoy. From our family to yours.

“Come to the Mozzarella Bar & Restaurant at the Corn Exchange, our Italian food hub at Deansgate Square, or our beautiful Northern Quarter venue; we’ve got something for everyone, no matter where you are in the city”

Mozzarella Bar, Restaurant and Deli at the Corn Exchange

Inspired by Nonna’s holiday get-togethers, Salvi’s is stacked head to (mistle)toe with freshly-imported Bauli Panettone and Pandoro. It’s available packaged in full size for a grande ending to a Christmas roast, or there’s a mini version for the perfect stocking filler.

Buying for someone passionate about authentic Italian cooking? Salvi’s owner Maurizio Cecco has carefully selected the contents for Salvi’s festive hampers. Available in two sizes, the hampers contain the finest hand-picked Italian cooking ingredients, including pastas, olive oil, balsamic vinegar, and chocolates, with the option to add a bottle of wine or a couple of beers. Prefer to create your own hampers? ‘Deli Master’ Ezio is on hand to advise along the way.

The deli is stocked with perfect gift ideas to take the stress out of your shopping. You’ll find collectable and colourful tins of D&G panettone, cook books, bottles of mulled wine, as well as a wide selection of cheeses and meats, all imported weekly from Italy for extremely buone feste (happy holidays).

Deansgate Square Restaurant and Deli

Salvi’s has created a little Christmas wonderland at Deansgate Square with cosy huts for you to take a break from the festive rush. Enjoy a selection of Neapolitan specials such as traditional Pasta Fagioli soup and the Italian winter-warmer Pasta Patate e Provola. For dessert, the venue is offering Manchester’s first Rum Baba in a cup; layers of rum-soaked sponge and traditional crema Pasticcera (pastry cream), with an alcohol-free version available too.

The Deansgate Square deli is stocked with everything from curated hampers and the finest meats and dairy products, to gift-wrapped wines, favourite Italian snacks and cooking ingredients, imported weekly by the Cecco family.

There will be live music in the restaurant in the run up to Santa’s big day, including a five-piece band and a talented party pianist taking requests from Thursday to Sunday every week. A Poretti Piaggio pop-up bar will be serving the iconic Italian beer on draft, alongside hot negronis, mulled wine, and more.

Northern Quarter Restaurant and Bar

Salvi’s NQ has whipped up some seasonal specials – a piccante pizza with fresh ‘nduja, Gorgonzola and honey, and two festive versions of the classic street food soffietti; the deep-fried dough balls are available with a choice of pistachio cream or Nutella, or aromatic tomato and basil for those who prefer a savoury snack.

The bar team have also created a special surprise bespoke cocktail to be served up throughout the Christmas period.
