Kingsland Drinks is launching a new Australian Riesling under its Andrew Peace brand, as its Winemakers Choice Riesling 2022 (12% abv, Victoria, Australia) will be on menus in all 130 Chef and Brewer venues across the UK from April 2023.

Andrew Peace wines are well known to consumers already with the brand’s great value Signature Shiraz and Signature Chardonnay available in Co-op stores across the country. The new listing follows the success of Andrew Peace Silhouette wines in Whitbread venues nationwide, such as Beefeater and Brewers Fayre.

Kingsland Drinks’ Australia Wine Buyer and Head of Buying, Paul Braydon, says: “We know there’s an increasing appetite for Riesling as new world styles are proving popular in retail as drinkers graduate from Sauvignon Blanc or Pinot Grigio. Consumers are becoming more educated in their choices and Riesling is perfectly positioned to have its moment in the sun. Dry and characterful, with plenty of zesty citrus notes, it pairs brilliantly with popular pub classics such as crispy salt and pepper squid, seabass, seared scallops and fish and chips.”

“Interest in wines from Australia are growing in the UK on trade, resulting in value and volume terms growth.”

Andrew Peace Winemakers Choice Riesling 2022 (12% abv) is rich, but delicately floral on the nose with bouquet of green apple, orange blossom, lime and jasmine. The palate is full of fresh lemon and lime citrus notes, with zesty grapefruit and a flint like minerality and a crisp acidity leading to a long, elegant finish. It is suitable for vegans and vegetarians.

Find it on Chef and Brewer wine lists from April in pubs such as Hare and Hounds, Werneth Low, The Didsbury, The Ashlea, Cheadle, Axe and Cleaver, Dunham Massey, The Bulls Head, Wilmslow and more across Cheshire, Lancashire and the rest of the UK.
