A 24-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder.

He has been taken to custody ahead of being questioned by detectives from GMP’s Major Incident Team.

Sadiq sadly died in the early hours of Tuesday 23 January 2024 after officers responded to an incident that occurred at the junction near Parrs Wood on the A34 Kingsway in East Didsbury.

Detective Inspector Alex Wilkinson, of GMP’s Major Incident Team, said: “We are continuing to search for justice for Sadiq’s loved ones and we continue to ensure his family are supported as the investigation progresses.

“Our enquiries are moving at pace, and we continue to work hard to capture a picture of what happened in the events leading up to and after Sadiq’s death.

“So far, we have conducted many hours of CCTV trawls and numerous property searches in Greater Manchester and further afield as part of our murder investigation.

“I ask anyone who may have seen something suspicious in the area that evening to come forward and know that information will be treated with the strictest confidence. It only takes one crucial piece of evidence that may be key to achieving answers for Sadiq’s family and friends.”
