Two men were arrested following a car chase which ended in Wythenshawe after a Tesco Express was robbed at knife point in Derbyshire

TVIU patrols identify the vehicle likely to be involved in an incident, knife point robbery at a Tesco Express in Derbyshire and deploy to various points across the force awaiting its return to Greater Manchester.

The vehicle was sighted in Wythenshawe and subsequently followed before it began to make off on the Broomwood estate around 9pm.

Officers pursue the Audi throughout Wythenshawe, and at points reaches speeds more than 80mph in a 30mph zone.

The vehicle is eventually abandoned on tram tracks at Benchill tram stop and two offenders decamp and make off on foot.

A man in his 30s was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and robbery. A man in his 40s was arrested on suspicion of robbery. Both men have been recalled to prison.
