Net migration fell last year to its lowest level since 2012
In the year to December 2025 the net figure was 171,000 falling from 331,000 in the previous year
The ONS says the decrease is driven by fewer people arriving from outside the EU, particularly for work
”The number of non-EU+ nationals arriving for work-related reasons fell by 47% in 2025 and was the main reason for the continued fall in net migration. In the same period, overall emigration fell slightly.”
