C.K. McDonnell is a former stand-up comedian who has supported the likes of Sarah Millican and Gary Delaney and has written for shows such as Mock the Week and Have I Got News For You.
Now, he is the author of The Stranger Times series – comic/fantasy books based around a struggling weekly newspaper in Manchester committed to reporting the weird and the bizarre from around the World.
The staff are a rag-tag bunch of misfits and accidentally they discover that the stories they are printing may actually be true and really rather scary.
The first in the series was released back in 2021 and was called The Stranger Times.
The second, This Charming Man, was released earlier this year and the third is set for publication on the 9th February this year and called Love Will Tear Us Apart.
The books are all set in Manchester and it really is one of the central characters.
