Bury Council leaders have approved plans which would bring 250 jobs and a major economic boost to Bury town centre.
The council-owned 5-acre plot at Chamberhall Business Park, next to Peel Way, could soon become the head offices of Crown Power & Gas Limited.
It is estimated that the new premises will generate £8 million annually to the local economy, with an increase in visitors and spending in Bury town centre shops, cafés, and services worth £560,000 per year.
Councillor Eamonn O’Brien, leader of Bury Council, said: “This supports our priority to drive economic growth and aligns with our “Let’s Do It!” vision for faster-than-average economic growth and reduced deprivation.
“This scheme would deliver high-quality employment space in a sustainable, accessible location, and bring a long-term vacant brownfield site back into productive use, unlocking 7,000m² of flexible employment space for offices and industrial uses.
“It would also provide new skills and training opportunities, particularly for young people and those not currently in education, employment, or training.”

The family already operates several businesses within the borough, including at offices and workshops in Pilsworth and the town centre, and is also investing heavily in Warth Business Park with the development of a new Adblue production facility.
