On Saturday 11 May, sports fans can enjoy a unique spectacle at the Pertemps Swinton Hurdle Day, England’s only racing fixture to feature both Flat and Jump races, which takes place annually at Haydock Park Racecourse.
Racing fans will wait with baited breath to see if Evan Williams can make it a total of five wins in the Swinton Hurdle race. Last year, the trainer won the race with Silver Streak and jockey, Adam Wedge – can he make it five victories? A racecard that has a combination of two Hurdle races, two races on the Chase course and four Flat races, it is a superb day of racing.
Tickets for the day’s racing start from as little as £10, with a wide range of entry options across Haydock Park’s selection of enclosures. Guests can choose from the Grandstand and Paddock enclosure for a relaxed day of racing and entertainment, or for those who wish to indulge or to make the day a special occasion, there is also the option of the more premium County and Premier enclosures.
Gates open at 12pm, offering racegoers plenty of time to place their bets before the first race commences at 2pm. There are a further seven races to follow, alongside a whole host of live entertainment, refreshments and eateries to enjoy.
Hospitality options include dining at Harry’s Bistro, where guests can enjoy stunning views of the course from a vantage point directly across from the winning post. Also available is the lavish Park Suite Restaurant, which also benefits from panoramic views that can be soaked up during a delicious three course meal.
Whether attendees are racing fanatics keen to experience this uniquely formatted fixture or are simply looking for a spectacular social event to enjoy with family and friends, the Pertemps Swinton Hurdle Day is guaranteed to be packed with quality racing and long-lasting memories.
