New pub and restaurant, The Wishing Well, is to open in Didsbury Village in April. The venue, which was formerly occupied by a branch of The Botanist, will open to the public on 1st April.
Visitors can expect a menu full of traditional well-loved British dishes using local, high-quality produce from suppliers include local butcher Jack Wood and Didsbury fishmonger, Evans.
The pub’s menu has been developed by a team of chefs with over 35 years of experience within the industry working in highly esteemed establishments such as The Savoy and for global brands such as Audi and Land Rover.
Expect pub classics such as ham, egg & chips, accompanied by a roast pineapple salsa; steak pie and proper mash; and fish & chips with homemade tartar sauce and mushy peas. There will also be a well-stocked grill section serving locally sourced ribeye, sirloin, and fillet steaks as well as fresh fish dishes such as sea bass linguine.
The Wishing Well will also offer guests a traditional Sunday Menu featuring a classic roast dinner and the new dog-friendly pub is keen to be a welcoming space for diners, drinkers, ramblers, and families. A wide range of beers will be available alongside an extensive cocktail menu.
The new venue has undergone a number of cosmetic changes to give it a new look and feel Hidden TV screens have been installed to allow key games and occasionally live sports to be shown. As well as the interior refurbishment, additional outdoor space will be created in time for the summer.
The Wishing Well will also host a programme of events and a schedule of live music acts featuring local talent to support the wider Didsbury arts community.
The gastro-style pub will be open seven days a week with an a la carte menu, children’s menu and a Sunday menu along with a bottomless brunch on Saturdays.

We’ve put a lot of effort into making sure we’ve got something for everyone and we just can’t wait to open the doors now.”
