This festive season, Greek street food legends, The Athenian will be serving up a hearty winter souvlaki with a festive twist – a novel approach to the classic Christmas sandwich.

The special edition souvlaki will combine wild boar sausage, from a small farm in northern Greece, dressed in aromatic herbs, wrapped in warm and fluffy handmade pitas and for the ultimate festive finish served with a dollop of cranberry sauce. Never forgetting their vegan fans, this year, The Athenian has created a plant-based winter special with Moving Mountains vegan sausages.

As Christmas is never complete without a sweet treat, The Athenian has also added some traditional greek desserts to the menu including the sweet, crisp, and syrupy chocolate baklava, as well as their classic brownies and the new melomakarona, a delicious greek honey macaroon.

Since launching in 2014, The Athenian has been serving Greek street food staples in a fresh, contemporary and authentic way.

The Athenian continues to bring a taste of Greece to the UK while executing it with contemporary tastes in mind. The festive menu will be served throughout November until the New Year. Both the wild boar and the Moving Mountains sausages are available as a wrap, box or ‘naked’ (without any carbs but additional halloumi). Prices start from £7 for a regular wrap but can also be made into a wrap or box deal (£10-£13).
