New Bailey has teamed up with local fitness studio, M3 Perform, to deliver a series of free, live home workouts to encourage the public to get ‘Lockdown Lean’.

Salford’s city centre destination, New Bailey, hosts a programme of events throughout the year; from the Manchester Duck Race, to the Bite Street Food market and lockdown isn’t stopping organisors from providing virtual wellness experiences for the community.

M3 Perform is usually based at boutique hotel, The Ainscow, and is a fitness studio that boasts impressive results from members.

Ben Cartwright from M3 Perform said: “M3 Perform is a gym specifically built to get you amazing results, while creating a fun environment for you to enjoy your training and meet new people. COVID-19 has changed the way we’re working at the moment, but we’re really proud of the online programme we’ve created, Lockdown Lean. The results we’re seeing and the feedback we are getting from our members is great!”

Phil Mayall, regional director at The English Cities Fund, said: “It’s brilliant to see the community pulling together and hosting virtual events to help lift spirits and maintain people’s health and wellbeing.

“We are looking forward to welcoming everyone back to New Bailey once it is safe to do so, but in the meantime, we would encourage everyone to support their local businesses where possible and importantly to look after their physical and mental wellbeing the best that they can.”

Classes last 30 minutes and use bodyweight, so there’s no equipment required. For those who love the classes so much they want more, there’s an option to sign up to the Lockdown Lean program via the M3 Perform website.

Classes will be put out via Instagram live at designated times throughout April and May. All attendees need to do is head over to @New_Bailey on Instagram and click on the story icon. Classes can also be accessed on New Bailey’s Instagram story for 24 hours after they have gone live for those who can’t make the time slot.

With more lovely weather in store, it’s the perfect opportunity to get outside for your daily exercise. Head out to the garden and get ready to move!
