Manchester’s first and only dedicated craft lager brewery, Manchester Union Brewery, has announced The Mancunion 100 – a new initiative to celebrate the unveiling of its new look can design. The brewery, which recently doubled its capacity capability to 12,672 pints per week, will partner with 100 Manchester businesses to create special-edition personalised lager cans.
Manchester Union Brewery uses unique brewing methods through a technique called decoction mashing, which has attracted the interest of breweries all around the UK. The result is a bold silky mouthfeel with a touch of caramel sweetness, followed swiftly with a hugely refreshing, dry and bitter finish from the central European hops.
Jamie Scahill, co-founder of Manchester Union Brewery, said: “We want to connect with local brands and businesses to celebrate everything the Manchester hospitality industry has to offer. We are Manchester through-and-through; we don’t care about selling our beer anywhere but here.”
Co-founder Will Evans added: “Partnering with our favourite local businesses feels like the perfect way to extend our customer offering whilst also sharing our army of Manchester fans to hard-working enterprises who share our love for the city. Come and join The Mancunion 100!”
Partner businesses in Manchester can add names and logos to the new design created by local designer Harrison Park, to create co-branded cans perfect for hosting summer events, sharing with loyal clients, or selling in a venue.
Over half of the 100 have been filled with businesses including Great North Pie, Funkademia, Vita and Podcast.co already signed up. The closing date is Friday 12th May.
