A man has been charged with wounding three people and attempting to wound two others at the Arndale shopping centre, Manchester, in October 2019.

Raphael Chevelleau 43 of no fixed abode, has been charged with three counts of section 18 assault and two counts of attempted wounding relating to four women and one man – aged between 21 and 60.

He remains detained under the Mental Health Act and is due to appear at Manchester Magistrates’ Court on Friday 11 June.

The incident on October 11th that year saw three people were stabbed and taken to hospital after the attack which took place on Friday morningTwo other people were assessed, one was treated at the scene and the other later went to hospital with a superficial wound.
