House hunting pet owners are being invited to explore a new Manchester housing development The Gateway by Lovell Homes with the opportunity to also sit for a free illustration of their furry friends.

As part of Lovell’s ‘A Home for Life’ campaign, the national housebuilder has partnered up with Manchester & Cheshire Dogs Home to promote its residents in need of a new home.

The two Greater Manchester-based organisations will be at the Manchester Craft and Design Centre in the Northern Quarter on 12 March. They’ll be selling locally made pooch-friendly treats to raise funds for the charity as well as offering free portraits at the development throughout the day, to mark the launch of the brand-new view homes at The Gateway.

Anne-Marie O’Doherty, regional sales director at Lovell Homes, said: “Manchester & Cheshire Dogs Home goes to incredible lengths to provide forever homes to its furry residents, and we similarly work to create communities and homes for life for house hunters, so it felt like the perfect partnership.

“We’re so pleased to have the opportunity to support Manchester & Cheshire Dogs Home by giving them the space to promote their residents in need, while also offering the first visitors to our view home the chance to celebrate their own furry friends!

“The Gateway is the ideal city centre development for pet owners with its mix of two bedroom apartments as well as three and four-bedroom homes, complete with secure parking, gardens, and even a roof terrace on specific homes. It’s opposite Ancoats Green, close to several other parks and lies adjacent to the Rochdale canal, providing an array of walking routes around Ancoats and to surrounding hotspots including New Islington and the Northern Quarter.”

Visitors to the stall will be able to take the ten-minute walk to The Gateway where they can speak with the sales executive and see for themselves how the development offers a unique blend of family living, just minutes from the city centre.

Visitors will receive a free live illustration of their pet by Manchester-based illustrator Boy, Oh Boy – they simply need to bring the subject of the portrait with them or a photo.

Anna Stansfield, manager at Manchester & Cheshire Dogs Home, said: “We’re excited to see our lovely residents brought to life in these illustrations, which will be displayed on the Lovell stall.

“We take in and care for more than 7,000 dogs every year, many of these dogs are never reclaimed by their owners and require a great degree of emotional and physical support during their stay with us. We therefore rely heavily on donations from the public and businesses so Lovell’s support will go a really long way and we hope people come down to the stall and The Gateway to get involved.”

The Gateway is currently offering several spacious three-storey three-bedroom homes, which come complete with superior specification, a large roof terrace, secure parking and a garden for pets to roam. Two-bedroom apartments, which includes the use of private outdoor space and private parking – a rarity this close to the city centre – are also now available.

The view home at The Gateway is open between 10am and 5pm Thursday-Monday for appointments with the sales team. To book an appointment, click here.
