A 23-year-old man has been jailed for 16 years following shooting in broad daylight in Oldham

Ethan Glasgow-Lattibeaudiere of NFA, was charged with 2 counts of attempted murder, section 18 assault, and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life after the incident in January this year on Shaw Road

Two males were traveling in the back of a taxi in the Derker area of Oldham, when they saw Glasgow-Lattibeaudiere in the area on a Surron bike dressed in all black with face coverings on.

As the taxi passed Glasgow-Lattibeaudiere, he has spotted the two males in the back and proceeds to follow the vehicle.

As he caught up with the vehicle, has begins to shout at the driver to stop and the passengers to get out.

After coming to a stop and fearing for his life, the driver left his car and ran before Glasgow-Lattibeaudiere forced one of the rear passenger doors open, shouting at the two passengers inside and demanding them to get out.

He then proceeded to get in the back of the taxi via the other passenger door, and as he does, one of the two passengers manages to get out and get onto the Surron that Glasgow-Lattibeaudiere has left at the side of the road.

As the passenger began to escape on the Surron, the 23-year-old pulled out his handgun firing and and hitting the fleeing victim in his back.

He then pointed his gun through the open car doors at the second passenger who has now exited with a knife, fired once, missing the passenger but causing damage to the taxi, before making off from the area himself and being picked up by another taxi moments later.

Now on the run, Glasgow-Lattibeaudiere was tracked to an apartment block in Hulme, and a day later, on the evening of Friday 17 January 2025, specialist firearms officers carried out an arrest on an apartment he was staying in.

A black Puma man bag was thrown from a window which was later discovered which contained a small silver revolver that had a cylinder chamber that had capacity for five bullets.

There were three bullets loaded. It is believed that the two bullets that were missing in the chamber were used in the shooting the day before.

Detective Chief Inspector Charlotte Whalley from our Major Incident Team said: “Today’s sentencing marks a significant milestone in our ongoing fight against gun violence in Oldham.

“Glasgow-Lattibeaudiere showed a complete disregard for public safety when he opened fire in broad daylight back in January, endangering not just his intended targets but innocent members of our community who were simply going about their daily lives.
