Live performances of Beauty and the Beast at Bolton Albert Halls have been cancelled because of the COVID-19 pandemic, but the show must go on!

Instead, families can enjoy a special edition of the festive fairytale favourite Sleeping Beauty from the comfort of their own homes.

The professionally pre-recorded performance will be available to stream from December 14 to January 3 for £15.49.

Virtual tickets can be purchased online now www.universe.com/alberthallsbolton and customers can watch the panto as many times as they like over four days.

This year’s show, produced by Polka Dot Pantomimes, stars Rebecca Lake as Princess Aurora, Chris Pym as Prince Harry and Benidorm’s Crissy Rock as Fairy Nuff.

Bolton Council’s Executive Cabinet Member with responsibility for the Albert Halls, Cllr Hilary Fairclough, said: “When it comes this year’s panto season, COVID-19 is certainly the villain of the piece.

“The annual Albert Halls pantomime is a firm favourite with audiences of all ages, and I know many people were disappointed to hear that there are no live performances this year.

“This wonderfully creative solution means we can enjoy all the fun and laughter from our own homes while supporting a popular local venue at a difficult time for live theatre.”

Darren Maddison, Executive Producer at Polka Dot Pantomimes added “Last year’s production of Aladdin was a huge success and we are delighted that Bolton audiences will still be able to enjoy their annual festive tradition by watching one of our pantomimes.

“Sleeping Beauty is full of fun, fairytale adventure and lots of audience participation to keep everyone amused and entertained this Christmas.”
