Local art enthusiasts will have the opportunity to meet an iconic pop artist this month, when the internationally renowned Romero Britto will be making an appearance at Castle Fine Art on King Street.

The artist will be showcasing his work at the gallery on Monday 25th June, between 6pm and 8pm. Visitors will be able to discuss his collections, past and present, as well as his inspirations and techniques. Britto’s artwork will then be on display for a further week.

‘Brazilian‐born and Miami‐made’, Britto truly established his distinct style at the age of 20 after he travelled to Paris and became inspired by Picasso and Matisse. This trip gave rise to his characteristic aesthetic—bright and bold pop art creations.

Today, his work is widely celebrated. Having exhibited in 30 countries across four continents and collaborated with some of the most famous global brands including Coca-Cola, Bentley and Disney, Britto has captivated audiences worldwide.

Speaking ahead of his visit to Manchester, Romero Britto said: “Art is too important not to share, and there is no greater joy than using it as a way of bringing people together.

“My aim is to project hope and happiness through each piece of my work, and I look forward to meeting guests at the gallery on King Street and seeing their reactions.”

Nic Beese, gallery manager at Castle Fine Art, King Street, said: “Romero’s feel-good art is filled with warmth, optimism and love, so it’s no surprise that it is recognised all over the world.

“The opportunity to meet the artist himself is one not to be missed and we can’t wait to welcome visitors to the gallery to learn about his collections and appreciate the artwork in person.”
