The Landing at MediaCityUK has hosted a visit for a group of students from the University of Southern California, so that they could experience for themselves the pioneering digital and tech offering of businesses based on site.

The trip was facilitated by ACCENT, which arranges custom-made study programmes for students internationally. The group, all Communications majors, had spent time in London as part of the trip and MediaCityUK was the only destination outside of the capital to receive a visit.

Maya Dibley, head of programmes and partnerships at The Landing, said: “This was a fantastic opportunity for both international students to meet some of the most forward thinking, exciting digital and tech businesses in the country, but it was also a fantastic chance for The Landing to showcase exactly what we have to offer here.

“We are the go-to environment for emerging tech and digital companies because of our unique approach to incubation and superb facilities – and our businesses have contributed more than £25million a year to the Greater Manchester economy and £83m to the UK economy. Not to mention the 600 jobs we support in the Salford local area.

“It is so important to showcase the exciting activity going on at MediaCity to highlight our global reach. We welcome opportunities for partnership and collaboration and were absolutely delighted to host the visit and arrange for the group to spend time with our tenants.”

The USC students met with music businesses Ostereo and Gas Music, digital advertising company Digmedia, publisher Cavendish Press and video production company Blue Caribou as part of the four day trip.
