February just became less gloomy thanks to a host of events on offer at East Lancashire Railway, including family fun adventure days and a malicious mystery for the whole family to solve.

Much loved favourites will be returning to the railway including the popular Peppa Pig and Friends Fun Day and a themed mystery that is fun for both younger and older sleuths, families can also dive into the brand new mythical madness of Dragon Quest.

Dragon Quest

Brand new to East Lancashire Railway, families can embark on a magical quest to the Mythical Forest of Fantasy and become the newest members of the legendary Dragon Camp.

Part mystery, part scavenger hunt and part treasure trail, families will have to complete magical missions and solve puzzles in Bury Transport Museum to become the master of dragons while meeting some mystical characters throughout the journey including a pixie who’s grown too tall, a wise old elf who doesn’t know anything and lots of dragons.

This interactive day out is fun for all the family and will take place on Wednesday 22nd February.

Peppa Pig and Friends Fun Day

Following the popularity of last year’s event, ELR is excited to welcome back Peppa and George for a fun day out, starting with a meet and greet at intervals at Bury Transport Museum.

Guests can complete Peppa’s activity trail and continue the fun with a cracking fun fair, face painters, craft activities and even meet farmyard friends at the petting zoo.

Peppa Pig and Friends Fun Days will take place on Thursday 23rd & Friday 24th February.

Malice in Wonderland

Families are invited to put their thinking caps on and join Wonderland’s wacky inhabitants at Bury Transport Museum as they try to uncover who stole the tarts.

Hunt amongst the museum’s exhibits and artefacts to find characters and clues needed to complete the crazy quests to discover the truth. You’ll meet a host of crazy characters along the way including the hatter and his riddles, a white rabbit who’s late for an important date and The Queen of Hearts who needs help with a curious game of chess.

Don’t lose your head while you take part in Malice in Wonderland on Tuesday 21st February.

Please note: trains will not be running – all events are held exclusively at the Bury Transport Museum.
