A new Indian restaurant and bar, GupShup, will open in Hale in December.

Located on Ashley Road, the restaurant will serve real and true traditional regional dishes that will transport you and your senses to India.

GupShup, which literally translates to ‘conversation’ in English will bring people together to
enjoy amazing food and drink in the most beautiful surroundings. Open from lunch until late, the restaurant will bring different dining options to the table including the lighter side of Indian food as well as traditional and classic Indian cuisine.

The GupShup menu has been curated to offer the very best of Pan Indian food and will use only the finest quality ingredients.

Owned by Raj Somaiya, who also owns Silverfox Events and catering company Payal,
GupShup is a very natural progression as his expertise and experience in catering and creating amazing events will ensure the restaurant is unlike any other.

Raj Somaiya commented, “We wanted to create a restaurant that offered not only the best,
authentic Indian food but also a place where people could get together and enjoy each other’s company. We also want people to know that Indian food is vast and varied, you could easily dine in our restaurant two or three times a week and never feel you have overdone it. We hope people will come and try something new but know we will always have their favourites and it will be the best Indian food they have ever had”.

Located in the former Natwest bank (199 Ashley Road) GupShup have invested over £1.5
million in the restaurant, the building has been carefully restored to its former glory, taking it back to brick and even replacing the roof.

Renowned interior designer Edwin Pickett (Tattu & Australasia) was commissioned to create a space that would provide a backdrop and atmosphere for people to come together and share the creative Indian cuisine. Drawing from subtle styles, colour tones, materials and delicate lighting the restaurant will provide a very personable, warm and intimate space for all.
