The Green Party are the first out of blocks announcing their candidate for Greater Manchester’s Mayoral election

Geraldine Coggins is a Trafford councillor Green group leader, described as a straight talking anti-austerity campaigner

At the launch event Coggins said that

“Like Gorton and Denton, this is going to be a straight race between the Green Party, with our message of joy and hope, and the toxic, divisive politics of Reform.”

“Greater Manchester needs hope. It needs hope and real change. No more tinkering at the edges.”

Greater Manchester Combined Authority announced that the mayoral vote will take place on 30 July,
