Greater Manchester has been covered by an amber warning for heat on Wednesday and Thursday this week

Parts of the region have slipped into the amber heat warning with 33-35°C possible.

The heatwave, the second in four weeks is being caused by the jet stream moving well north of the UK with high pressure forming over the North Sea dragging in hot air from over Europe

Further South the Amber warning starts tomorrow

The Met Office said it now expected a June temperature record could be set this week, beating 35.6C in the infamously hot summer of 1976

The forecast for Monday from Oldham Weather sees Hazy sunny spells, hot and humid with the best of the sunshine in the south. Breezy.

There is a good chance of some thunderstorms breaking out in the west & moving NE through the region.
