The new elected MP for Rochdale George Galloway said his Workers party could unseat Angela Rayner in Ashton-under-Lyne at the next election.

Galloway took his seat in the House of Commons this afternoon after being sworn in escorted by the Alba Party’s Neale Hanvey and the Father of the House Peter Bottomley

He forecastthat independent candidates will pick up millions of votes at the general election saying his Workers’ Party will stand a candidate against Angela Rayner.

He says: “We will either win or make sure Keir Starmer doesn’t win.”

Outside the Commons he reacted to Rishi Sunak’s speech outside Downing Street on Friday saying it was not the Prime Minister’s right to tell the people of Rochdale who to pick as their MP

He added that The next election will be about Muslims and will be about the taking away of civil liberties in this country. It’s Sunak’s last hope.” as he accused the PM of using ‘Muslims and Gaza’ as a ‘wedge issue’ in the run up to the election
