A Manchester United fan has been named as a 2025 JustGiving Award Winner as star player Mason Mount surprises the fundraising hero with a once in a lifetime day out at Old Trafford.
Henry Moore has won in the Social for Good category in this year’s JustGiving Awards after walking nearly 1,200 miles to Ibiza in a pair of flip flops for children’s cancer charity Be More Fab.
The 22-year-old set off from Manchester on 5 April, travelling across England, through France and into Spain entirely on foot, finishing his journey on 29 June and raising more than £57,000 through JustGiving.
In an emotional video, lifelong Manchester United fan Henry was fortunate enough to receive a personal message from current Manchester United player and Champions League winner Mason Mount, who surprised Henry with a VIP matchday experience at Manchester United v Sunderland on Saturday, 4 October, following the news of his award win.
With over 18,000 nominations in this year’s JustGiving Awards, the Social for Good Award celebrates individuals who use their social media platforms to drive positive change. Henry was selected as the overall winner of the category after being shortlisted to just four finalists and then selected by a public vote.
Henry is no stranger to long-distance adventures. Since 2023, the social media star has tackled a series of headline-making endurance feats, including walking from London to Berlin for the Euros final and even running from the UAE to Riyadh for a boxing match.
Documenting his travels on Instagram and TikTok since his first challenge in October 2023, Henry has amassed more than 765,000 followers.
Henry, who had no idea he was going to win, said: “I was in shock. I was absolutely chuffed when I heard the news about the JustGiving Award and to be invited to the Director’s Box for the match. More importantly, I was thrilled to share this experience with my younger brother, Burt.
“Before the game started, we enjoyed dinner in the hospitality suite, which was amazing. Receiving a personal video message from Mason Mount made the day feel special, and watching him score his first goal at Old Trafford, with Manchester United winning, truly topped it all off.
“After the match, we were invited onto the pitch and met most of the players in the tunnel, who chatted with us, posed for photos, and signed this season’s home shirt for us. All in all, it was a fantastic experience, and my brother and I are very grateful to JustGiving for giving us a day we will never forget.”
Henry was one of 20 finalists named for the 2025 JustGiving Awards this year, after more than 18,000 nominations were submitted by the public. To be nominated, entrants had to have used JustGiving to raise money for a charity or personal cause over the last 12 months.
The finalists were shortlisted by an internal judging panel from JustGiving for the five new categories. Alongside the Social for Good category, the other categories are: Rising Star, Mind Over Miles, Stronger Together and Championing the Cause.
Pascale Harvie, President and General Manager of JustGiving, said: “Over the last 25 years, we’ve seen more than £7 billion raised for good causes by millions of brilliant, passionate fundraisers on JustGiving. The Awards are our chance to celebrate that extraordinary community and shine a light on the remarkable individuals whose courage, compassion, and sheer commitment truly inspire us all.
“After the incredibly tough job of whittling thousands of phenomenal nominees down to just 20 finalists, the public made a powerful choice. Walking 1,200 miles in flip-flops to support children with cancer clearly made Henry stand out. The way he has used his platform and his challenge to give back and to inspire others is simply phenomenal. We hope that his time with the Manchester United team will be an experience he will remember forever. From the entire JustGiving team, congratulations, Henry.”
