GRUB will welcome back the ExtraVEGANza food festival in 2018 due to increased popularity in both veganism and flexitarian approaches to eating. Demand has been so high that the festival’s duration has increased to three days.
It is to help people embrace the new year challenge ‘Veganuary’, the effort to go vegan for a month. To do so the city centre street food event will be supplying the usual top notch street food, amazing beers and smashing drink with the complete absence of animal products.
Jules Bailey, director of GRUB said, “Seeing the growth of veganism this year has been brilliant and it’s been amazing to see Manchester become the vegan capital of the North.”
“We want to do our bit in showing everyone you can eat cracking tasty food and have a good knees up at a vegan food fest that’s why we’re doing ExtraVeganza again this year!” Bailey continued.
The Grub director’s vision to provide awesome food seems to have come to fruition with some delicious sounding food.
Special vegan menus will be available. One of which will be provided by Hip Hop Chop Shop who will be serving freshly fried fish and chips. Satisfying portions of mac & cheese will be available from Mac Daddies.
There will also be piles of mezze from The Ottomen, hand made dumplings from Oh Mei Dumplings on offer.
It is not only savory appetites that will be catered to. Sweet options from Choux Choux in the way of French pastries and bakes from the legendary Bake-O-Rama.
On top of this there will also be a mini food produce market selling locally produced pies, pasta, butters, cheeses, pickles and ferments to take home. alongside the food there will be 14 lines of 100% vegan beers from local breweries plus the usual selection of wines, ciders and hand made sodas, soft drinks, hot drinks and spirits.
The ExtraVEGANza will take place between 27/01/2018 and 29/01/2018 at Fairfield Social Club with opening times below. The event is free to enter and all are welcome including families and dogs. Further details can be found here.
