Exclusive first images of the apartments at Latimer’s £70m High Definition development in Media City have been revealed today.

The images offer a first look at the apartments’ interiors, which have been created by interior design specialist Lou Tegerdine and were inspired in part by the hit Netflix series, the Queen’s Gambit.

The colour scheme for the apartments brings together the classic black and white of a chessboard – a feature prominent in the design of the bathrooms, which benefit from smart clean lines and large format wall tiling – with flashes of accent colour to create a vibrancy to the living spaces.

All apartments at High Definition feature open-plan living and kitchen spaces and have floor-to-ceiling windows to flood the apartments with light and create an airy, spacious environment. High spec contemporary finishing has been used throughout and the bedrooms come fully equipped with built-in wardrobes.

Residents at High Definition will also become exclusive members of Club HD and have access to the Club HD terrace lounge – a conservatory style garden facing area situated off the podium terrace which abridges High Definition’s 16-storey and 13-storey residential towers, Alto and Aria.

The Club HD terrace lounge will provide the perfect extension to residents’ apartments, with a cocktail bar complete with wine fridge, rich velvet curved retro sofas, leather reclining chairs, stools shaped like giant chess pieces and wooden tables with their own built-in wine bottle holders. And as members of Club HD, residents will also have access to the TopBrewer app through which they can order freshly ground coffee via counter-top service.

High Definition will also provide residents with co-working spaces equipped with hyperoptic broadband and private meeting pods ideal for Teams or Zooms calls. In addition, residents will have access to a multi-function private room equipped with a flatscreen TV and surround sound speakers, perfect for larger business meetings during the day and social activities in the evening.

Speaking about the interior design of the apartments at High Definition, Lou Tegerdine said:

“The bold black and white graphic that runs through the scheme is key and links perfectly with all things Media City. For the shared spaces we introduced shots of electric blue and for the apartments a more subdued palette of monotones with moss green and clay tones.

“In the show apartment we aimed to demonstrate how purchasers can, with cleverly selected wallcoverings and furnishings, create a truly unique and dynamic living space. The apartments really do lend themselves to this with full height windows and open plan spaces.

“The kitchen units are simple and handless with perfect matt finish doors in either graphite grey or cashmere. The greige interior bathroom tiles found on so many developments have been abandoned in favour of a more striking palette of patterned floor tiles mixed with oversized wall tiles. Penthouse bathrooms have matt black brassware and all rooms have recessed LED ceiling lights and dark wood grain effect doors.

“It was great to work with the Latimer team as all parties were committed to delivering the highest quality scheme in terms of both design and finishes.”

High Definition, which is being delivered by Latimer, the private development arm of Clarion Housing Group, will comprise 280 apartments. 100 of these will be available through shared ownership.

Latimer’s shared ownership offering allows people to part buy, part rent a property while increasing their share of ownership over time until they own their property outright, a process known as staircasing. This approach eliminates the need for aspiring homeowners to put down a high deposit in order to buy a property, removing one of the key barriers many face to home ownership.

Overall, 132 one-bedroom, 136 two-bedroom and 12 three-bedroom apartments are available at High Definition, with residents able to move in from November 2022. Prices for one-bedroom apartments start at £193,000. Two-bedroom apartments are available from £280,000 and three-bedroom apartments are available from £430,000.

The apartments also come with the option of a furnishing pack, which prospective owner occupiers can view themselves by visiting the show apartment at High Definition’s on-site sales and marketing suite.

Latimer group development director, Richard Cook, said:

“High Definition is a true exemplar of the future of city living. Situated right in the heart of Media City’s thriving creative hub, the development is in an excellent location. It offers residents access to everything from award winning green spaces, leading cultural attractions and waterfront living to major employers right on their doorstep and outstanding connectivity with Manchester city centre itself.

“Not only that, but High Definition will provide a range of really attractive amenities – including high spec co-working spaces and a residents’ lounge – which will ensure the development becomes a vibrant community for all those who live there.”
