Elon Musk’s X has announced it will stop its AI bot Grok from making sexualized deepfake images.
In a statement, X said Grok would no longer allow the “editing of images of real people in revealing clothing such as bikinis” and that generating images of real people in this way will be blocked in jurisdictions where it is illegal.
The announcement follows widespread concern over sexualised AI deepfakes and amid a global backlash over the tool being used to create non-consensual sexualised images of people.
Earlier this week Ofcom launched an investigation into X over concerns that its AI tool, Grok, is being used to create sexualised images.
