Acclaimed tapas restaurant, El Gato Negro, has introduced an expertly crafted and updated drinks menu, providing the perfect cool-down for the warmer summer months.
The list features carefully curated cocktails and hand-picked wines, as well as artisanal craft spirits and a tempting selection of beers and ciders to complement the selection of renowned tapas dishes.
The new menu sees an enhanced range of cocktails available. Due to popular demand, the much-loved Espresso Martini (£8.50) now takes a permanent place on the menu. A twist on a classic, the English Mojito (£10), is ideal for those craving an invigorating taste. For those who enjoy a fruity flavour, Fresas con Crema (£9) and White Sangria (£9.50) are new additions that will excite your taste buds.
Further adding to the list, patrons can enjoy non-alcoholic cocktails; the new peach and elderflower fizz mocktail (£4.50) will provide the perfect light refreshment.
A refreshed range of gin and tonics are available, guests can relish Tanqueray Gin (£9.50), Bloom Gin (£10), Sipsmith London (£10) or Warner Edwards Victoria’s Rhubard Gin (£11). All concoctions are created with the perfect panache and flavour.
El Gato Negro’s celebrated selection of Spanish wines remains a key feature on the menu, with a selection of all-time favourites, offering something for all tastes. The Bodegas Ribas del Cua Mencia 2017/8 (£28 per bottle) is intensely aromatic on the nose with both red and black fruits and a creamy long finish, a great accompaniment to lamb and red meat dishes.
The Centello Tempranillo Syran 2017/18 (£23 per bottle) is medium-bodied, juicy and smooth, a perfect pairing with charcuterie. For a full-bodied intense flavour, enjoy the 1864 Castillo De Olite, Crianza 2014 with layers of vanilla and fresh black fruit aromas (£47 per bottle).
Speaking on the revised drinks menu, El Gato Negro Head Bartender, Matt Gregory, commented: “Here at El Gato Negro, we wanted to shake up the drinks menu to provide a greater range of cocktails and gins as we embrace summer. Whilst creating the menu, our aim was to provide something for everyone, whether they are coming in to enjoy a refreshing gin and tonic on a hot day or a flavoursome glass of wine with a delicious meal.”
