This summer sees the launch of the latest resident at Manchester’s Corn Exchange, Delhi House Cafe, a brand new modern Indian restaurant that has already an established base in its native homeland.
With a lifetime of experience in culinary creation, restaurant success in India and a creative vision the Lamba family has chosen Manchester as the home for Delhi house Cafe.
It is a concept style cafe-meets-restaurant which aims to re-define Indian Cuisine in Manchester with stunning new dishes of contemporary Indian cooking.
Opening all day, Delhi House Café key dishes include a dish named ‘not my Burger’ which is an open burger of homemade beef kebabs served on a hand-made tandoori naan with salad and chips and also the Mysore Pak cheesecake, which has its origin from Mysore in India.
With an extensive listing of Wines, beers, spirits and cocktails; many of which have been sourced from India to perfectly complement the cuisine and the syrups such as sandalwood made is on-site as well.
Plans for the restaurant have been three years in the making and they took hold of the site 15 months ago to develop the space. The family behind the brand, the Lambas, working tirelessly to appoint experts in Indian food, source interior dressing from the country (which was reupholstered in Manchester to perfectly marry the two areas’ cultures) all of which was made especially challenging by the national lockdown due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
“Opening a restaurant during and after a global pandemic is no mean feat and we’re proud of our team for working so diligently to ensure the site can open in time with an amazing menu and setting in place. We have stayed strong and stand strong with the city.
Our family’s Indian identity, roots and heritage is at the heart of our menu and every dish tells a story inspired by a different part of the country.

The restaurant will open with stringent safety measures in place, including thorough cleaning procedures, sanitised menus and social distancing throughout.
Delhi House Café is the latest brand to open at Manchester’s Corn Exchange and its neighbours at the site’s atrium include Banyan, Cosy Club, Gino’s Italian, Mowgli, Döner Haus and Wahaca.
