Nearly a thousand people were present at Manchester Cathedral this afternoon for the memorial service for Sir Bobby Charlton

The Manchester United and England legend passed away last month aged 86.

Fans applauded as the funeral procession make its way from Old Trafford to Manchester Cathedral with Manchester United’s under 21 and under eighteen teams forming a guard of honour

The Prince of Wales was amongst those paying their respects at Manchester Cathedral for the private funeral along with England Manager Gareth Southgate and former United Manager Sir Alex Ferguson as well as former United CEO David Gill

Prince William previously paid tribute to the football legend as a “true great who will be remembered forever”.

Members of the current Manchester United Squad were also in attendance at the Cathedral
