British cricket commentator and former cricket legend David “Bumble” Lloyd has confirmed an appearance at Manchester Sporting Club just days before the Cricket World Cup final.

David will take guests through his life story ten days before the cricket world cup final and just a few weeks away from the start of the Ashes, when he appears at the Manchester Sporting Club on July 4th.

David “Bumble” Lloyd is one of English cricket’s most-loved figures, especially in the North-West where he plied much of his trade.

He was not only a leading batsman for Lancashire and England – as well as a semi-professional footballer for his beloved Accrington Stanley – but went on to become a first-class umpire, head coach for first Lancashire and then England, and finally one of the most entertaining broadcast commentators and pundits in the business.

The David “Bumble” Lloyd event at The Manchester Sporting Club runs from 6.00pm – 8.30pm on Thursday 4th July at Manchester Hall, costing £45 for Sporting Club members and £80 for non-members.

All guests will receive a framed photo with David Lloyd, enjoy an intimate and delicious two-course dinner and get the opportunity to witness a 40-minute Q&A hosted by Ian Stafford, founder of the Sporting Club.

The Manchester Sporting Club has had an impressive portfolio of guests including Freddie Flintoff, David Brailsford, Frank Bruno, Harry Redknapp and most recently, Michael Carrick.

The Sporting Club is the world’s only private networking club with permanent venues in London, Manchester and Dublin for sport, the business of sport and those who simply love their sport.

Ian Stafford, Founder of The Sporting Club, said: “We are thrilled to be welcoming such a legend to The Manchester Sporting Club.

“This is a must for all cricket fans as he’s certainly got some great stories to tell which you don’t want to miss.”
