The Pensions Minister Paul Maynard is under investigation for allegedly using taxpayer money for political purposes
The Sunday Times reports that he is under investigation for spending £106,000 of Taxpayers money on local Tory party printing costs
The Blackpool North MP is accused of systematically breaching parliamentary expenses rules by using taxpayers’ money for political purposes
Anneliese Dodds, Labour Party Chair, said:
“These are extremely serious allegations. Any suggestion that taxpayer money has been misused must be thoroughly investigated.
“There are serious questions to be answered by Rishi Sunak and the Conservative Party. How was this allowed to happen? Why was the complaint against Mr Maynard not taken seriously? And are there other Tory MPs seemingly using taxpayer money to promote themselves and the Conservative Party?
“Rishi Sunak’s promise of professionalism, integrity and accountability was in tatters long before these revelations. We urgently need a general election and change with Labour.!
