Three of the worst ten train stations for cancellations are in Manchester according to analysis which also found that trsin services in the north of England are less reliable than the south

Work by the Guardian newspaper found that more than half of all train services departing from the UK’s busiest stations have been delayed or disrupted this year

The worst station was Manchester Oxford Road where 11 per cent of services were cancelled. Manchester Piccadilly was the fourth worst with 9.47 per cent whilst Manchester Victoria was seventh on the list with 8.25 per cent

The comparison between the North and the South was stark.Data showed that 20% of TransPennine Express trains were cancelled in November, compared with 2.3% on one commuter line in and out of London, and 4.5% on the London Overground.
