Police are appealing for information after woman was robbed at knifepoint at a hairdresser’s shop in Droylsden.

On Saturday 25 March 2017, at about 4.45pm, a 43-year-old woman was working in the shop on Market street when a man entered, claiming that somebody was chasing him.

The woman asked him to leave but he produced a Stanley knife from his pocket and held it to her neck. He demanded that she opened the safe, which the victim did, and he fled with cash stuffed down his trousers, running onto Chapel Street.

Police are appealing for witnesses and information.

The man is described as white, 43-48-yers-old, about 5ft 10in tall, medium-stocky build, with brown wavy hair. He was wearing a baseball cap, a dark jacket and combat-style trousers.
