Leading Rioja brand Marques de Caceres is bringing the sights, sounds and tastes of Spain to Manchester from today .

Halewood Wines & Spirits is the sole UK agent for the label, one of the biggest selling Riojas worldwide and the main sponsor of Festejar. The festival, which promises Spanish soul with a Manchester heart, is returning for a third year with a line-up featuring the best in Spanish music, culture, food and drinks.

Festejar will take over the city’s Albert Square for four days, kicking off in style on September 1 with a one-off performance from one of the world’s leading Spanish tribute bands, The Andalus Band, who will delight the crowds with their flamenco guitar flames.

The following night, the chilled out vibe of Ibiza will come to Festejar as celebrated DJ Miguel Manzano presents a unique electronic musical story tracing the story of dance music on Ibiza and the hypnotic spell it has cast upon the world.

Then over the course of the four day festival, activities will include Spanish dance lessons, crafts, food and drink stalls and daily live music and entertainment.

Halewood’s title sponsorship includes all branding, on and offline advertising and sampling of its Marques de Caceres wines across the four days of the festival, including the Crianza, Rose, White and Reserva labels.

Andrew Turner, director of wine at Halewood, comments: “Marques de Caceres is the wine that real Spaniards drink and Festejar promises to be four days of authentic Spanish culture like no other. We are delighted to be sponsoring the event.”

Patrick Marmion, Festejar organiser, says: “Festejar keeps getting bigger and better and this year’s events promise four days that will transport Manchester’s residents direct to the heart of modern Spanish culture.

“No matter what the Manchester weather throws at us, this will be one part of the city where the sun will always be shining
