Popular comic book-inspired characters will take over Stockport this month as Merseyway Shopping Centre hosts The Comicon-Way.
Taking place on Saturday 28th September, and featuring an impressive version of the marvellously strong Hulkbuster, the suit made famous in Avengers: Age of Ultron as Iron Man used it in his battle with the Hulk, which will be travelling through the centre with Transformers character Optimus Prime. Not something you see every day!
Actor Spencer Wilding, best known for playing Darth Vader in the popular Rogue One a Star Wars Story, will be available for meet and greets from 11am – 3pm. Fans are also invited to jump on a Star Wars Speeder Bike, snap a photo by platform 9 ¾ and see the popular 1969 Dodge Charger from The Dukes of Hazzard film, General Lee.
Three Transformers cars will also be on display and visitors can shop the latest comic
merchandise from a variety of pop-up stalls throughout the day.
Centre Manager, Victoria Nichol said “We’re thrilled to be hosting the first comic-style event
in Merseyway- people travel far and wide to attend these events and we can’t wait for
visitors to see what we have in store. We encourage everyone to come along in fancy dress
and we’re really excited to see all the different costumes on the day. Make sure you don’t
forget your cameras because there will be a lot of photo opportunities you won’t want to
miss!”.
In partnership with UK comic, film and TV collectables store, Funky Figures the Comicon-Way is free to attend and will take place from 9am – 5pm.
