81 drivers caught on hard shoulder trying to avoid M60 queues

Eighty one drivers have been reported by police for driving on the hard shoulder of the M60 to avoid queues following an accident

The offences occurred on the M60 between Junctions 17-16

GMP Traffic said on X

“Whilst officers implemented a closure of the carriageway numerous drivers decided to drive down the hard shoulder to skip the queue of traffic which prevented further emergency service vehicles attending the scene…”
