Fighting amongst a gang of youths in Flixton late yesterday evening saw a 21 year old male taken to hospital with knife injuries
Police were called to Moorside Road just before midnight
The injured man was taken to hospital where he remains in a serious but stable condition.
No arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing.
Detective Inspector Karl Perry of Trafford CID said: “I understand the concern incidents like this cause to our local community, and I would like to reassure residents that our investigation is working at pace to identify those responsible.
“I would ask if anyone was in the area at the time either driving or walking past to please come forward with information. Alternatively if any residents live in the area and have CCTV our officers haven’t been made aware of, please speak to us
