Andy Burnham will not break Labour’s manifesto pledge by issuing new North Sea oil and gas licences it has been confirmed contrary to rumours in the press
He was expected to make the announcement on Monday as one of a series of policies after being confirmed as Prime Minister
Sources now say he is just expected to announce plans to speed up the exploration of existing licences and present it as a major change of direction
Other plans expected to be announced include,Public control of water and energy companies
Lower energy bills through VAT cuts or by moving older wind and solar farms onto fixed-price contracts

The Independent is reporting that Andy Burnham is planning a shakeup of the Foreign Office which is expected to include a roadmap from 0.2% to 0.7% of GDP spent on foreign aid
It is also expected that Andy Burnham will also spend the later part of next week at the new No 10 North in Manchester to symbolise his shift away from Westminster
