Getting into the Halloween spirit will be easy this year as Manchester serves up a whole host of events.

  • Slug & Lettuce at Deansgate are hosting two ‘Let’s Get Dark’ weekends either side of Halloween in collaboration with Jägermeister. Get two for £6 on ice-cold served Jägermeister shots and 2-for-1 on creepy cocktails, including the limited edition ‘Spooky Stag’ – a chilling concoction of Jägermeister, passion fruit puree, lemon, pineapple and orange juice.
  • Located in the heart of Spinningfields, 20 Stories will be hosting an exclusive Blackout Dinner on Saturday 27th October. Guests are invited to dine in the dark, with just candlelight and the glow of the Manchester skyline to guide them through a magical 4-course menu from chef director Aiden Byrne. On the 31st they will also host a themed party complete with live music playing some spooky covers and transforming the roof terrace into a giant pumpkin patch. From 22nd October until 1st November a special Halloween cocktail, Killing Me Sloe-ly, will be available from the bar containing Sloe gin, Solerno blood orange liqueur, apple liqueur, black walnut bitters, blood orange puree and vanilla foam with dehydrated raspberry powder.

 

  • Selfridges on Exchange Square are hosting two beauty events – first is a master class with Manchester make-up artist Samantha Helen on Thursday 25th October from 6-9pm. She will be sharing her tips and tricks and re-creating some of her most famous looks, from Poison Ivy to Black Swan. Tickets are available on Eventbrite.

Then on Saturday 27th October, get Halloween party ready from 12-7pm with complimentary hair and make-up services, including glitter makeovers by The Gypsy Shrine, all while sipping cocktails provided by The Alchemist.

  • Dog friendly Northern Quarter venue 19 Cafe Bar has turned its regular Doggy Date Night into a Halloween Spooktacular for some seasonal celebrations. On Tuesday 30th October from 6-8:30pm, owners and dogs are invited to dress up and do their best pumpkin pup or frightening furry friend impressions, with a chance to win best in show. Dogs and owners alike can celebrate together with unlimited Halloween punch and spooky snacks available all night. Tickets can be found on Skiddle.
  • The Printworks Pump Yard is hosting a free family friendly event on Friday 26th October from 12pm – 4pm. A DJ will be playing all the best petrifying pop songs to boogie along to and there will be crafty workshops where kids can make witches hats and spooky stained-glass, plus face painting and balloon modelling which is guaranteed to delight the little ones.   • Treetop Adventure Golf will also be hosting a Halloween extravaganza until the 26th October, starting at 10am each day. There’ll be free face painting from 12-4pm and a trick or treat box at reception. Once you’ve completed the course, you can also enjoy handmade pizza from Pizza Cabana.

  • Japanese restaurant Shoryu Ramen are celebrating with their Halloween Set Menu, available at the Piccadilly Gardens restaurant from Monday 29th October. With all three courses available for just £20, diners are advised to book in advance, as the menu is available for a limited time only. Kick start the frightening festivities with the“Ghost” bun. Choose from the classic char siu BBQ pork belly bun with Japanese mayu, or the petrifying Pumpkin Croquette Bun for vegetarians – complete with ghostly decorated bun.

For those brave enough to take on a second course, Dracula’s Ramen will be the main offering for the evening.Take your pick of Tonkotsu with caramelized black garlic or the White Natural veggie version.Finally, finish with a dessert of Witch’s Hat Ice Cream – green matcha ice cream topped with black cone hat, finished with strawberry blood sauce and edible eye decoration.

  • The Range cinema – located in the centre of Spinningfields – is hosting a boozy Halloween spectacular on Friday 26th October.
    Dreamt up by the founders of Manchester’s premier golf clubhouse and the team at Crystal Head Vodka, the cinematic spooktacular will take place in The Range’s luxurious surroundings for one night only.

The screening of Bill Murray’s cult classic, Ghostbusters will begin at  7:30pm with a glass of nerve-settling fizz on arrival, followed by the intimate screening.

Tickets are £150, which covers a bottle of Crystal Head’s finest vodka – filtered through Herkimer diamonds – and an exclusive booth for you and your friends.

  • Malmaison Hotel on Piccadilly has released an exclusive range of Halloween cocktails, available from 24th October to 7th November. The Black Margarita is a tasty combinationof Olmeca Tequila, Blue Curaçao, Chambord and lime juice. Sweet and fruity with just enough tartness to balance it all, the only thing as striking as its’ flavour is its blue colouring. Made with Beefeater 24 Gin, Lillet Blanc and a dash of Absinthe, the Corpse Reviver has a venomous bite. Finally, go crazy for the delicious ‘Mezcal Asylum’ cocktail; the Calvados brandy and Chartreuse pair wonderfully with the Mezcal, while its signature dry ice ensures you won’t go unnoticed this Halloween.   • Velvet Hotel & Bar is putting on a Halloween event with a difference this weekend with its ‘Fallen Angel’-themed ‘Halloweekend’ from 26-28th October. Sumptuous, stylish and scary, the venue’s weekend of Halloween-themed activities is set against a backdrop of rich black décor including jet black balloons and ribbons.There will also be a number of Halloween themed cocktails including the ‘Witches Tears’, garnished with dry ice. Velvet’s staff will also be getting into the spirit with a special ‘fallen angel’ make-up theme.

Marco Pierre White’s Mr White’s English Chophouse will be offering service as usual until 10pm all weekend, before transforming into Velvet Underground to keep the party going.
