The Mayor of Greater Manchester, Andy Burnham  officially opened Manchester and the North West’s first Easy Hotel this week  joined by staff, local dignitaries and some orange-pyjama-clad guests.

Known locally as the ‘Flat Iron building’, and Grade 2 listed, the new hotel is centrally located in the City’s stylish Northern Quarter.

The building has been sympathetically redeveloped by easyHotel, retaining many original features. The rooms are simple and stylish, with ensuite rooms to prioritise comfort and a great night’s sleep.

Guy Parsons, CEO of easyHotel, said: “We’re delighted and proud that Mayor Andy Burnham is officially opening our new hotel today. Manchester is a thriving world-class city, famous for its culture, its music, its commerce and its diversity. We’re also looking forward to making a significant contribution to the local economy. We create jobs and by keeping our prices very low, we enable visitors to spend more of their money in the cafes, restaurants, shops, museums and venues throughout the city. Our new Manchester site reflects the very best of the easyHotel experience. The rooms are stylish and comfortable and I am very proud of the team that has delivered this great experience.”

Manchester is the latest in a programme of openings for easyHotel in the UK and internationally. Hotels in the pipeline include Liverpool, Ipswich, Sheffield, Leeds, Belfast, Reading, Barcelona, Dubai, Bernkastel-Kues, Lisbon, Istanbul) and Kathmandu
